After connecting to an unattended computer, I’m seeing something different than I expected

Problem

After connecting to an unattended computer, you expect to see the desktop of a logged in user. Instead, you're seeing a Windows logon screen or something else that you didn’t expect.

Cause

The FixMe.IT application will always show the current state of the computer’s console. In other words, it will show the display that’s physically connected to the remote computer. If the computer is running as a Terminal Server and several users are connected to it, the FixMe.IT application will always show the console rather than the output of a specific terminal session.

Solution

If you intend to connect to a terminal session, start an attended remote session (via Client ID). It’s not possible to switch to a terminal session during an unattended connection.
