A transferred file does not appear in the target location after a Paste operation
Problem
When you transfer a file from one computer to another using the Copy/Paste file transfer method, the file may not appear to be pasted in the target location even though the progress bar has indicated that the transfer has been completed.
Cause
This issue may occur due to a Microsoft time-out limitation concerning paste operations in Windows Vista or later.
Such behavior may occur when paste operations take about 5 minutes or more in Windows Vista or later Operating Systems. If you copy and paste large files or folders (10 MB or larger) over the internet and the transfer takes about 5 minutes or longer to complete, the copied content does not automatically appear in the target location even though it has already been sent to the file cache on the remote computer.
Solution
Simply repeat the Paste operation by doing one of the following:
- Right-click the mouse and select Paste.
- Press CTRL+V again.
The clipboard content will be immediately transferred from file cache directly to the target location without repeating the file transfer operation.
